Dynamic Argument Arrays: Unifying Your Command Interface

A common bottleneck in CLI design is the “fixed-argument trap,” where methods are tightly coupled to a specific number of positional arguments. To build a truly interactive shell environment, your method routes should accept a unified dynamic signature, typically args: List[str]. This pattern decouples your command-logic from the shell’s input parsing.

The Problem: Rigid Signatures

If your methods require specific positional arguments (e.g., def create(name, path, mode):), adding or changing parameters forces you to update every command routing call in your system.

# Rigid: Hard to extend
def handle_create(name, path):
    ...

The Solution: The List[str] Signature

By forcing all command handlers to accept a standard List[str], you delegate the parsing responsibility to the command itself. The shell simply gathers raw tokens and passes them down.
