The Builder Design Pattern
The Builder Pattern is a creational design pattern used to construct complex objects step by step. Instead of using a constructor with a massive list of parameters, which leads to the “telescoping constructor” anti-pattern, the Builder allows you to produce different types and representations of an object using the same construction code.
The Problem: Telescoping Constructors
When an object has many optional parameters, developers often resort to creating multiple constructor variations:

This becomes brittle as the object grows. Adding a new configuration requires updating multiple constructors or dealing with None values everywhere.
The Solution: The Builder
The Builder pattern separates the construction logic from the object representation.

When to Use the Builder Pattern
- Complex Object Construction: Use it when an object requires many steps to initialize.
- Immutability: You can use the Builder to construct an object, and then return an immutable version of that object once finished.
- Readability: It turns complex initialization into a readable “fluent interface” (method chaining).
